DTS (distributed temperature sensing) fibre optic linear heat detection systems, as all fire detection systems, need functional verification during commissioning and maintenance in accordance with requirements. In this case it is necessary to have a test tool which can control the increase of temperature safely in a defined space along the fibre optic sensor cable.
The unit controls the heating sleeves to simulate a fire condition along the fibre optic sensor cable. Protection devices are built in for safe operation. Electrical connections are carried out by flexible cables, which are protected against mechanical damages by a resistant outer jacket. The flexible cables have specific plugs for easy connection to the control circuit.
